Meadow Trail -An Easy Hike For Grandparents
Just recently our parents and siblings (and their children) visited us from the east coast and the west coast.
We all wanted to enjoy a hike in the mountains together – all three generations of us. Grandparents, parents and seven kids ages 1-7.
Where do you take a group of family members with such diverse physical abilities to hike?
Alderfer Three Sisters Jefferson County Open Space Park turned-out to be the perfect hike for everyone! Why was it so perfect? Because we chose to walk the Blue Bird Meadow Trail which is flat, takes some interesting turns, has beautiful views, and takes about 40 minutes to complete.
The little ones had enough exercise, the middle-aged kids had a great time running and climbing the rocks, the parents got in some light exercise and the grandparents got a workout as well as some excellent photos of all their grandkids in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
Try it next time your relatives come to visit – it’s sure to please the young and old alike! An easy hike for the whole family!
